Hawaiʻi Helps Georgia
Fundraiser to Support the Two Georgia Senate Races
Wednesday, December 9, 2020
Fundraiser begins at 4:00PM HST
Mahalo for being part of Hawaiʻi's efforts to help Georgia. The two Senate seats there will determine whether we have a brighter, more progressive future, or whether we'll continue to suffer under the thumb of Mitch McConnell and his cronies.
We are proud to be holding a fundraiser featuring Georgia Rep. Sam Park and Rep.-Elect Marvin Lim, and moderated by our very own Rep. Adrian Tam.
Rep. Park is the grandson of refugees from the Korean War, and the son of Korean American immigrants, and is a graduate of Georgia State University and American University. He is the first openly gay man to serve in the Georgia legislature and the first Asian American Democrat elected to the Georgia General Assembly.
Rep.-Elect Lim is an immigrant from the Philippines who graduated from Emory University and Yale University and has dedicated his career to helping the most vulnerable in his community. He was the only gay candidate to win in the June 2020 primaries in Georgia.
Our moderator is Adrian Tam, the only openly gay State Legislator in Hawaiʻi, who beat a "Proud Boy" and bigoted candidate in the 2020 general election to represent Hawaiʻi's 22nd State House District.
The fundraiser is co-sponsored by the LGBT Caucus of the Democratic Party of Hawaiʻi. All proceeds will go directly to Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock's Senate campaigns.
