The Democratic Party of Hawaiʻi and our Health Committee are proud to announce a virtual “Lunch & Learn” panel on Thursday, September 17 at 12:00PM with three nationally-recognized epidemiologists:
· Dr. Julia Marcus of Harvard, an infectious diseases epidemiologist and a frequent contributor to The Atlantic on COVID and harm reduction, who was recently quoted extensively in Honolulu Civil Beat;
· Dr. Alison Buttenheim of the University of Pennsylvania, a global women’s health researcher with a focus on health decision-making and behavioral economics and founder of Dear Pandemic; and
· Dr. Daniel Westreich of the University of North Carolina, whose primary area of investigation is the intersection of HIV with women’s reproductive health, but has been working on harm reduction issues surrounding COVID public policy.
In this panel, Drs. Marcus, Buttenheim, and Westreich will be discussing the national COVID situation, what Hawaiʻi is doing well, what Hawaiʻi isn’t doing well, and where we as a community and as a nation go from here.
This is a really unique opportunity to hear from these nationally-recognized experts and ask your questions.
