Presidential Elector Candidate
Betty Bowen Vega
Aloha DPH 2020 State Delegates:
I'm Betty Bowen Vega, and I'm asking for your vote to be a Presidential Elector for the state of Hawaii.
I promise to be a faithful elector and vote in accordance with the will of the people of Hawaii.
Alan Yamamoto encouraged me to "join in and step up" to leadership roles in the Party at my very first precinct meeting. Glenn Ida, then District 49 Chair, mentored me in his philosophy of "just keep showing up."
While a life-long Democrat, my public activities in the Democratic Party began after I retired from a 33 year career in federal service -- first half as a scientist; second half as an inspector general. I was elected: Precinct Vice President (D49-6) in 2016; delegate to Oahu County Conventions in 2017, 2018 and 2019; District 49 Chair (appointed in 2017, elected in 2018; and re-elected in 2020); delegate to State Conventions in 2016, 2018, and now 2020.
Currently, I also serve as Co-Chair of the Oahu County Democrats Affirmative Action Committee and lead a 2020 Census Subcommittee.
I live in Kailua, City and County of Honolulu, Hawaii and can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org, or at (808) 330-7008.
Standing with Joe Biden, and the first female Vice-President in our country's history, ensures we restore "the soul of our nation."
Mahalo for your consideration.
All the best, Betty Vega
