Presidential Elector Candidate
I will be delighted to serve as a committed Democratic Party elector, affirming the election of Joe Biden as President in this most critical year.
Since my wife and I retired to the Big Island six years ago, I have been honored to serve for one year as Chair of the Hawaii County Board of Appeals; four-year Board Member and Secretary of the Board of Directors, Friends of the Libraries, Kona (F.O.L.K.); founder and Moderator of the monthly F.O.L.K. "Not-Just-Another-Book-Club Travel Conversation Circle"; current member of the Kailua Village Design Commission; member of the Mediation Panel, Hawaii Supreme Court Appellate Mediation program; and A.A.R.P. Advocacy Volunteer.
In my professional career in California, I practiced law for fifty years and am a former President of the California Trial Lawyers Association. I was selected to serve as Presiding Arbitrator of the State Bar of California as well as an Administrative Law Judge Pro Tem for several years. I taught law school courses and was a published author. I was active in local and state Democratic politics there most of my adult life. My detailed (and thoroughly immodest) resume is on-line at http://www.Werchick.com.
Although a largely ceremonial position, it will be a great honor to be selected as a Presidential Elector.
